Did you know that you could find out which industries were hot? (By “hot,” I mean which industries are doing the most hiring at the time.) Oh, you didn’t know you could do that? Well, you can and here is how you do it.
Hop over to Yahoo Finance and mouse over the “Investing” tab, then mouse down to “Industries” (as shown in the screenshot below).
On the Industries page there are two options that I want you to check out the A) list of industries and B) top industries based on job postings made on Monster.com. (At this writing, the top industries that are hiring are Health Care, Retail and Sales.)
Let’s say that our interest is in Biotechnology (A). I click the link. There is a “HotJobs Top Companies” section (See the arrow?) It lists which companies are posting the most jobs on Monster that are affiliated with the Biotechnology industry.
Just fyi, at this writing, the companies that are hiring the most in the Biotechnology industry are:
- West Houston Medical Center
- LabCorp
- Kingwood Medical Center
- East houston Regional Medical Center
- MedFocus
