There has been a lot of controversy concerning the 2020 US Presidential election results. Republicans are alleging fraud at the polls. Democrats have responded: We won, get over it. To many people, the dispute is no different than when Hillary Clinton complained ad nauseum about Trump stealing the election from her. She was not the first to react negatively to losing an election and I doubt she would be the last. However, this time the scenario has not faded out as per usual. Instead, its picking up steam.
“The Big Lie” is the narrative that the election was stolen from Donald Trump due to cheating from the Democrats and their supporters. President Biden denounced the big lie in a speech today by calling it… “a big lie.” Here is a quote from The Post Millennial.
“Election officials, the entire electoral system, withstood unrelenting political attacks, physical threats, intimidation and pressure. They did so with unyielding courage and faith in our democracy,” he said. Biden said that the 2020 election “was the most scrutinized” in American history.
There were numerous recounts, audits, and court cases, and the Democrats claimed victory. Yet the Biden administration believes there are issues that need fixing with the electoral process from a federal level.
He said that “no election has ever been held under such scrutiny and to such high standards.” Even so, somehow his administration feels that something is broken with an electoral process that met every challenge and propelled him and his party to victory.
“The big lie,” he said, using a term that has become synonymous with the belief by former President Donald Trump and others that there were instances of electoral fraud in the 2020 election within the battleground states, “is just that a big lie.”
Of course, this is direct opposition to what he said when on the campaign trail. At that time he bragged about having “the most extensive and inclusive VOTER FRAUD organization in history.”
Very soon, it seems, we will know which Biden quote holds true. More and more news reports are surfacing concerning Republican efforts to safeguard election integrity and the Democrat efforts to circumvent it, specifically by blocking voter ID laws. Something Americans wholeheartedly support and desire. Take for example what just happened in Texas. This quote is from The Daily Signal.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says Democrats who fled the state to avoid voting on an election reform bill will be arrested upon their return.
Democratic members of the state House of Representatives left Texas to avoid being called to vote Monday on the election legislation. Under state law, two-thirds of House members are required for a quorum that allows votes.
“Once they step back into the state, they will be arrested and brought back to the Capitol and we will be conducting business,” Abbott said of the Democrats in an interview Monday night with Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham.
Texas House rules say that the House sergeant-at-arms, or someone designated by that officer, may arrest absent lawmakers and return them to the House floor. That applies only inside Texas, which is why the Democrats left the state.
Further down in the article it reads…
“With this political stunt, Texas Democrats turned their backs on the majority of Texans who support commonsense election integrity efforts like voter ID requirements and protections against ballot harvesting,” Anderson [Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson] continued.
The episode reeks of political theater. The Democrats fleeing the state only delays the inevitable. Governor Abbot called a special session and that runs out in 30 days. Afterwards, he can call another special session and another session and so on and so on. To quote the same article once more.
“We have special sessions that last 30 days,” Abbott said on the Ingraham show. “And the governor calls them, and I will continue calling special session after special session because over time it is going to continue until they step up to vote.”
Why such an extreme stance against the voter ID laws that Americans want? Republicans contend its because Democrats want to cheat their way into office. And while some Democrats admit that there were a few hiccups in the process, it was highly unlikely that there was enough fraud to overturn a Presidential election. Increasingly, evidence to the contrary keeps surfacing. Here are a few quotes that I think are indicative of a furious storm on the horizon that might tear my country apart.

Steve Bannon, the man who served as Donald Trump’s chief strategist, says that a bombshell is on the way that will rock the 2020 Arizona election. On his podcast, “The War Room,” Bannon said that Republican Arizona Senate Leader Karen Fann has a game changer in store. He said that she will send a letter to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that will show evidence that there were inaccuracies in the 2020 Arizona election.

Petitioners in a lawsuit organized by VoterGA to inspect Fulton County ballots have added stunning claims in their amended complaint and provided new evidence from public records that show Fulton County’s hand count audit of the November 3 rd 2020 election was riddled with massive errors and provable fraud.

Pennsylvania Republican State Sen Doug Mastriano announced that he will launch a “forensic investigation of the 2020 General Election and 2021 Primary.”
The Senator is quoted in the article as saying…
A forensic investigation of our election results and processes for the 2020 General Election and the 2021 Primary will go a long way to restore trust in our system. Voting is the fundamental right of all citizens. We should continually look for ways to improve the voting process to ensure every voice is heard.
Today, as Chair of the Intergovernmental Operations Committee, I issued letters to several counties requesting information and materials needed to conduct a forensic investigation of the 2020 General Election and the 2021 Primary.
We have asked these counties to respond by July 31st with a plan to comply. The counties represent different geographical regions of Pennsylvania and differing political makeups. Some are Republican while others are Democrat, which means that this will be a balanced investigation.
The speculation on Twitter is that President Biden is in a panic and was in PA today in order to fight the audit. President Trump made mention of this, just prior to President Biden’s arrival in PA.
When President Biden arrived in PA, his speech on protecting voter rights included the following quote. This from CNN.
It was the most forcefully Biden has inveighed against Trump since taking office. At one point, accusing Republicans of shirking truth and responsibility for upholding the Constitution, he bellowed: “Have you no shame?”
One of the fieriest speeches of Biden’s presidency to date, Biden’s remarks reflected the fury he and fellow Democrats have cultivated as Republicans follow Trump’s lead in denying the election results. He predicted it is likely Republicans will use a similar strategy in the 2022 midterms, saying “we have to prepare now.”
He called efforts to call the election in question “dark” and “sinister” on Tuesday, saying they reflected “human nature at its worst.”
All of these events make me ponder…
If the election was fair and no cheating happened then, why the resistance to an audit?
If the election was fair and no cheating happened then, why is it dark and sinister to even question the possibility of malfeasance?
If elections are fair and no cheating happens then, why the concerted effort to block voter ID laws in future elections? (Especially when Americans want voter ID laws!!!)
I would think that Democrats would want the audits and fact finding to proceed so that there can be no doubt and ultimately, have something to troll Republicans with.
Could it be that proven fraud in any state is a thread that could unravel their political standing and that is simply unacceptable? Could it be that maintaining power is more more important than insuring the sanctity of our election process?
Methinks the Democrat leaders protest too much and I have to agree with President Trump’s statement regarding President Biden’s trip to PA.
Let the Forensic Audit go, Joe. Don’t fight it. Show them how honest it was.
