Nine Reasons to Fear For The Future of America

NOTE: At some point, before bed, I read through 50+ news sources and share my findings here. If you like it, share it. If you don’t, share it. Follow my blog now to support my work or to find new reasons to complain about it. My opinions are my own. All tips are welcome as well as comments on my video series - The Jim Stroud Show.

What if this happened during the Christmas holiday season?

Southwest said they cancelled flights due to the weather and not due to pilots protesting vaccine mandates. Other airlines flying to the same location did not cancel their flights. Hmm… I am skeptical of Southwest Airlines’ explanation.

Gas prices are skyrocketing… worldwide!

This from CNN Business

The cost of energy was dirt cheap in the spring of 2020 as roads and airports sat nearly empty during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Energy demand is back today as the world economy reopens — but supply simply hasn’t kept up. That’s why US oil prices have skyrocketed $120 since crashing to negative $40 a barrel in April 2020. US oil prices finished above $80 a barrel on Monday for the first time in nearly seven years.

Crude gained 1.5% to end the day at $80.52. The last time oil closed above $80 was October 31, 2014.

All of this is leading to sticker shock for many Americans filling up at the pump — at a time of the year when gas prices typically cool off. The national average price for gasoline hit a fresh seven-year high of $3.27 a gallon on Monday, up by 7 cents in the past week alone, according to AAA. Gas has nearly doubled since bottoming at $1.77 in April 2020.

High gas prices will only exacerbate elevated inflation, squeeze the budgets of American families and hurt President Joe Biden’s political fortunes.

Walmart and Costco are limiting sales on Toilet Paper

Daily Mail said this

Stores across America have empty shelves thanks to a series in supply chain problems that are prolonging inflation and could stretch into the new year, with some retailers like Costco and Walmart limiting the amount of toilet paper in some stores.

More than 60 cargo ships are waiting to dock in California, carrying hundreds of thousands of containers, and may be stuck for months in a traffic jam after arriving from China and Asia. Millions of dollars of American goods are still sitting in warehouses in China, awaiting shipment.

There are similar problems with homegrown goods that can’t be transported quickly enough by truckers or on freight trains.

911 is a joke!

This from NBC News

The pandemic-induced shortage of emergency medical technicians and paramedics nationwide is so dire that ambulance service providers warn of sharp cuts to services and longer waits for 911 calls — even when it’s a matter of life or death.

Companies have had to close, consolidate or come up with new strategies to answer calls, said American Ambulance Association President Shawn Baird, who added that there is simply not enough EMS personnel to cover calls in many parts of the country, especially during the pandemic.

Biden leaves Americans in Afghanistan then gives money to the Taliban

Newsmax reported this

The U.S. has agreed to provide humanitarian aid to a desperately poor Afghanistan on the brink of an economic disaster, while refusing to give political recognition to the country’s new Taliban rulers, the Taliban said Sunday.

The statement came at the end of the first direct talks between the former foes since the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops at the end of August. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. on the weekend meeting.

The Taliban said the talks held in Doha, Qatar, “went well,” with Washington freeing up humanitarian aid to Afghanistan after agreeing not to link such assistance to formal recognition of the Taliban.

Did you know that the Pfizer vaccine was never approved?

If you spend over $600 the IRS will have access to your bank account if new bill passes

Americans for Tax Reform posted an article that should send shivers down your spine. (Hat tip to subscriber Cindy!)

The IRS Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI) regularly violated taxpayers’ rights and skirted or ignored due process requirements when investigating taxpayers for allegedly violating the $10,000 currency transaction reporting requirements, according to a 2017 report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). In addition, less than one in ten investigations uncovered violations of tax law.

These findings should be alarming to taxpayers given that President Biden has proposed creating a new comprehensive financial account information reporting regime which would force the disclosure of any business or personal account that exceeds $600. Not only would this include the bank, loan, and investment accounts of virtually every individual and business, but it would also include third-party providers like Venmo, CashApp, and PayPal.

FBI vs Mama Bears

When the FBI calls protesting parents “domestic terrorists” this was bound to happen. Parents will not back down from protecting their children. This is not good for our country. FBI should go after real bad guys and leave the law abiding citizens alone. Just sayin’…

When? Probably never.

And finally, this from The Blaze

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Fauci was asked when indoor mask requirements would be rescinded. Show host Dana Bash asked, “How long do you think it will be until it’s safe for vaccinated people to once again be indoors without a mask?”

Fauci, however, declined to provide a direct answer, instead only talking about abstract guideposts toward “normal.”

“It’s always tough to predict that,” Fauci told Bash.

“I think, if we continue to go down in the cases that we’re seeing right now, and more and more people get vaccinated, as the dynamics of the outbreak, namely, the amount of virus circulating in the community, goes down, I hope we will be able to pull back on some of those restrictions to get closer to what we really feel is normal in the community,” he continued.

When pressed for details, Fauci said public health officials need the nearly impossible level of fewer than 10,000 COVID-19 cases per week to consider rolling back restrictions.

See it for yourself

Excuse me while I take a moment to pray for America.

(pause)
