This is absolute insanity. Why is this happening?
I read a lot and have grown very cynical as a result, especially as it relates to politics. I tell myself that nothing shocks me anymore. Well, I was mistaken. Check out this October 28, 2021 quote from The Wall Street Journal.
The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma.
The U.S. Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are considering payments that could amount to close to $1 million a family, though the final numbers could shift, the people familiar with the matter said. Most of the families that crossed the border illegally from Mexico to seek asylum in the U.S. included one parent and one child, the people said.
Further down in the article it says…
The total potential payout could be $1 billion or more.
With news like this, no wonder people are making a run for our border. Last I checked, another huge caravan was on the way.
Hmm…
Are all these people asylum seekers?
Are all these people criminals and terrorists?
Are all these people tested for Covid-19?
The answer to those questions is “no.” The better question to ask is…
How many are asylum seekers?
How many are criminals and terrorists?
How many have been tested for Covid-19?
The answer is NOBODY KNOWS because they are all allowed in without vetting or if they are blocked, they are aided by the Biden administration and their allies to get in anyway. Case in point, the Biden administration did not vet any of the Afghans transported from Afghanistan. People, I must add, that were given preference over the Americans who are still stranded in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
Leaving Americans behind while evacuating Afghans was more than an “America last” policy, it may very well be a slow cancer policy if history repeats itself. Check out this quote from the website National Interest. All things considered, it is a frightening and sober reminder that American safety should trump political correctness.
In 2014, when waves of refugees began flooding into western Europe, citizens and officials alike responded with generosity and openness. Exhausted refugees spilled out of trains and buses to be met by crowds bearing gifts of clothing and food, and holding up placards that read “Welcome Refugees.”
This was a honeymoon that could not last. Some of the upcoming difficulties had been anticipated: that the newcomers did not speak the local languages, might be traumatized, would probably take a long time to find their footing, and had brought their ethnic, religious and sectarian conflicts with them, causing them to get into battles with each other. All of these things happened but—as Angela Merkel promised—were manageable. “Wir schaffen das.”
But there was one development that had not been expected, and was not tolerable: the large and growing incidence of sexual assaults committed by refugees against local women. These were not of the cultural-misunderstanding-date-rape sort, but were vicious, no-preamble attacks on random girls and women, often committed by gangs or packs of young men. At first, the incidents were downplayed or hushed up—no one wanted to provide the right wing with fodder for nationalist agitation, and the hope was that these were isolated instances caused by a small problem group of outliers. As the incidents increased, and because many of them took place in public or because the public became involved either in stopping the attack or in aiding the victim afterwards, and because the courts began issuing sentences as the cases came to trial, the matter could no longer be swept under the carpet of political correctness. And with the official acknowledgment and public reporting, a weird and puzzling footnote emerged. Most of the assaults were being committed by refugees of one particular nationality: by Afghans.
When researching the matter further, I found arguments that said we should bring in as many refugees as possible and that more refugees settling in our country actually makes communities safer. Likewise, I have seen academic reports that back up things said in the National interest article above. And then there are videos like this (wow):
If you want my perspective on the matter, I will give it to you. Americans conflate illegal immigration with legal immigration and argue incessantly past each other. I have no problem with people entering our country LEGALLY, which means they are vetted to see if they are bad guys and can contribute something positive to American society. I am against people who flagrantly break our laws then feel entitled to our benefits. This viewpoint does not make me racist nor xenophobic. In fact, it makes me like you.
When you lock your door at night, you are protecting what is yours. If someone enters your house through a window or breaks down a door, you exercise your 2nd amendment rights or call the police in order to defend what is yours. It is unlikely that you allow anyone who breaks into your house to set up a home in your living room and eat all your food without consequence. Moreover, I doubt that you would sit idly by as they invite family and friends to live with them in your house and demand that YOU pay for their well-being. That would be crazy, right?
Sigh.
When illegal migrants inhabit the neighborhoods of the politicians, tech oligarchs and the elite, things will change. Until that time, or until politicians who put Americans first are elected, this country will continue to be invaded. And if you complain… yes, you guessed it. You are a racist. Keep this in mind during the 2022 and 2024 election season as the Democrats (and RINO Republicans for that matter) who support open borders solicit your vote. Until then, live with the consequences, bigot.
