Some would call this hypocrisy. I definitely would.

President Joe Biden is looking to spend more than $10 billion in American taxpayer money to protect the borders of Ukraine even as he spent $6 million every day to NOT build a wall along the United States-Mexico border.

But wait, that’s not all.

President Joe Biden’s administration is looking to divert United States Border Patrol agents from their mission at the U.S.-Mexico border to send them overseas “to assist” those fleeing from Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion, a new report states.

And keep in mind, 2+ million people have entered our country illegally since Biden has been in office and we do not know who they are or where they are. The possibility that bad actors have entered in is more than probable. In some instances, it’s been proven.

Sigh.

The idea of sending American citizens into harm’s way to protect another country’s border as our own is non-existent is incredibly hypocritical. While I can appreciate assisting the Ukranians with weapons and humanitarian aid, I do not think sending border agents (today) or soldiers (possibly in the near future) is the right strategy for the United States at this time.

It may sound callous but consider this. Presently, there are 59 global conflicts resulting in 164,721 deaths every year. Yet, none of those conflicts are given significant coverage in the mainstream media. (Why?) And if they were, how many of them should we invest our blood and treasure? What makes their wars less horrendous than what is happening in Ukraine today? Are the lives of people in Yemen less important than the lives of Ukranians? If not, where is the moral outrage to send our border agents over there as well?

And in case you are curious of all the wars going on in the world that you don’t know about, check out the video below. It’s quite illuminating (and a bit depressing).

The reason why we are not involved in EVERY conflict around the world is because there is no American interest being served. If so many of our people go to war and die, what is the return on that investment? In some cases, the answer is evident such as with WW2. We had to defeat the Nazis to preserve our freedoms. The case was made clear with the bombing of Pearl Harbor. But what are we getting with Ukraine? What separates it from all the other global conflicts? The only thing that seems evident to me is our mishandling of foreign policy has placed the world in jeopardy and weakened the United States even further.

When I was growing up, I was taught to put your family first. Once your house was taken care of then, do what you can for the greater community. The USA has a lot of problems right now; chief among them, a porous southern border. Why not secure our own border first before trying to take care of someone else’s border? Am I the only one who sees the problem in this? Or is thinking this way somehow racist? (I’m only half-joking when I ask that.)

To be clear, we should help people in need where we can. (I am not an isolationist.)

But we should also weigh the cost and determine if our involvement is worth the blood of our children and the further weakening of our nation; especially now.

There are 59 global conflicts active – right now. Think about that.

Would you feed a family in a faraway land as your child starved?

America first.
