Its All Recruiting w/ Jim Stroud and Julia Gometz of Brandful

In this episode of the “Its All Recruiting Podcast,” I had a delightful experience with Julia Gometz of Brandful Code as we discussed so many things, among them:

  • Foodies and the concept of “impossible meat”
  • Tracking employer brand sentiment when the company is having a bad news day.
  • How recruiters can use Persona Style Marketing to inform their recruitment strategies
  • Brandful Code’s upcoming whitepaper comparing diverse and non-diverse companies.
  • Clean bathrooms as a retention strategy
  • Monitoring employee sentiment like a stock ticker then, posting that data on the company career website.

And other things, I don’t immediately recall. Tune in to find out what those were!

Robotopia: Collaborative Intelligence in the Age of AI

Recent economic research suggests tens of millions of jobs will be eliminated due to robots and automation, artificial intelligence and the like. Does this mean that the workplace will be a battleground between humans and the machines threatening their way of life? Not likely. Although there will be some workers affected more harshly than others, I believe the prevailing future will be a type of collaborative intelligence between humans and machines. Tune in to find out what I mean. | Please rate this podcast on your favorite podcast platform.

DESCRIPTION:

15 minutes ago, the world changed. Social media has infiltrated our lives, bringing together communities of people, but also taking its toll on the mental health of some individuals. As a result, companies have started adapting their hiring practices to better understand their candidates.

So, what are they utilizing? We are now seeing advanced technologies that monitor the emotional fitness of their workers, AI scanning the faces of candidates to see if they are telling the truth, and even employees getting microchipped. These methods may improve overall efficiency and the bottom line of the enterprise, but at what cost? When does the collection and tracking of employee data go too far? How much privacy should an interviewee or employee expect to have? And most importantly, how will these practices affect the future world of work?
