I stumbled across a tool that I think its quite useful in terms of career-planning – JobsGPT.
What is it? I asked it and it told me this:
JobsGPT by SmarterX analyzes AI’s impact on jobs by breaking tasks into exposure levels, estimating time saved, and providing rationale for AI automation. It can assess job titles, analyze job descriptions, and forecast AI-driven roles across industries. The app also predicts new jobs emerging from AI advancements, offers career comparisons, and suggests future-proof skills. Users can download assessments and forecasts as CSV files for further analysis.
Hmm…

Prompt: What percentage of a recruiter’s job overall can be done by AI and automation?
Based on current AI capabilities, 50-70% of a recruiter’s job can be automated with AI and automation tools. The remaining 30-50% requires human skills such as strategic decision-making, negotiation, and relationship-building.
Prompt: How can a recruiter safeguard their career relevance?
To safeguard career relevance in an AI-driven world, recruiters should focus on areas where human skills are irreplaceable while leveraging AI to enhance productivity. Here’s how:
1. Master Human-Centric Skills
AI can automate tasks, but relationship-building, emotional intelligence, and strategic decision-making remain crucial.
- Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Develop deep interpersonal skills to understand candidate motivations and company culture fit.
- Negotiation & Persuasion: AI can suggest offers, but closing deals requires human intuition.
- Storytelling & Employer Branding: Craft compelling narratives about company culture that AI can’t replicate authentically.
- Ethical Decision-Making: Maintain fairness in hiring by monitoring AI for bias and ensuring DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) compliance.
2. Become an AI-Augmented Recruiter
- Learn AI-Powered Hiring Tools: Understand how to use and audit AI-based resume screening, chatbot-driven candidate engagement, and interview analytics.
- Data-Driven Recruiting: Develop skills in HR analytics to interpret AI-generated hiring trends and optimize recruitment strategies.
- ATS & CRM Proficiency: Master Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools enhanced with AI.
3. Build a Personal Brand & Network
- Thought Leadership: Share insights on LinkedIn, participate in industry discussions, and showcase AI-savvy recruitment strategies.
- Continuous Networking: Cultivate strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and HR leaders to stay ahead of automation trends.
- Recruitment Marketing: Engage in social media-driven talent attraction strategies beyond AI automation.
4. Specialize in Complex or High-Touch Recruiting
AI can handle high-volume hiring, but recruiters can remain relevant by specializing in:
- Executive Search & Headhunting (CXO, VP-level roles)
- Tech & Niche Talent Acquisition (AI engineers, cybersecurity, biotech)
- Diversity Recruiting (Building inclusive hiring pipelines)
5. Invest in Lifelong Learning
- Certifications: Earn certifications in AI-driven HR (e.g., SHRM, LinkedIn Talent Insights).
- Upskill in Tech: Gain exposure to AI ethics, HR tech, and automation workflows.
- Attend Webinars & Industry Conferences: Stay updated on evolving AI tools in recruitment.
Bottom Line:
Recruiters who blend human expertise with AI-driven efficiency will future-proof their careers. Instead of competing with AI, partner with it to enhance decision-making, personalize hiring, and focus on high-value relationships.
…
I know most of the people who follow me are in the HR space but this tool works across the board, so do a search on your profession and see where your future lies. But, I digress.
I’ve always heard the argument that AI can do so much but the human element is irreplaceable, and I agree with that, yet I find myself in a schizophrenic argument. Maybe I’m morphing into the old man that says, “Get offa my lawn!” and wants things a certain way? Either way, I want to explore contrary opinions about AI in recruiting. Is it all rosy? Maybe yes, maybe no.
I’m going to share some of my thoughts and opinions in the near future and hope to get your feedback as I do. I really want to have a conversation about this stuff. If you are onboard for the ride, give this article a like.
Thanks in advance.
