I was very fortunate to speak at the 2014 LinkedIn SourceIn event in New York last month. My topic was “I was for big data before I was against it.” Everyone was awake when I was done, so I added it to my “win” column. These are the points I addressed.
# Why are recruiters doing more posting and praying than ever before?
# Who are some masters of big data?
# How are companies using big data to improve their recruiting processes?
# How are companies using big data to improve office efficiency?
# Is big data really “the civil rights issue of our era?”
# What should companies worry about when it comes to using big data for recruiting purposes?
# Why does Jim ramble at times and get distracted so easily? (Seriously, that’s something I ask myself all the time and… squirrel!)

LinkedIn releases “LinkedIn Endorsements,” a system that lets users endorse the skills listed on a LinkedIn profile. Plus, Jim is a bit happy about returning for a new season of his show. Tune in to see for yourself.
Are you a LinkedIn power user? If you are, you still may be surprised to learn about LinkedIn Labs. LinkedIn Labs is a small set of projects and experimental features built by the employees of LinkedIn. In this episode I focus on two of my favorites: Resume Builder and Hero Connect. I think that both of those apps are incredibly useful to recruiters and job seekers. Click here to download the show notes.
How to post to multiple Linkedin groups from one page is the subject of this week’s episode. Is this even possible? The short answer is yes, by using a certain Chrome extension called “Add to Any.” Click here to download the show notes which has links to all of the items mentioned in the show. Thanks!
